The Lawyer Show
One of Vancouver’s most important legal events and a valued tradition, The Lawyer Show is a fundraiser for two of Vancouver’s most cherished theatre institutions: Carousel Theatre for Young People and Touchstone Theatre, both registered charities. Every year, twenty or so lawyers take to the boards to prove that acting and the practice of law have way too much in common. Lines are learned, songs are sung, audiences applaud, money is raised, and fun and friendship abound along the way.
And now for this year's show!
Music and Lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, Book by Heather Hach
Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Motion Picture
Playing at 8pm Nightly April 23rd - 26th 2014 at the Waterfront Theatre!
Legally Blonde:The Musical tells the story of Delta Nu Sorority Sister Elle Woods, and her amazing trip in pursuit of sexy man Warner Huntington III. Perennially perky Elle Woods is a girl who loves to be pampered and shop for the latest all-pink outfits. But don't let this seemingly ditsy fashionista fool you - this sorority sister is smarter than she seems and doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "more serious," Elle sets out to win him back by putting down the credit card and hitting the books. Ready to revamp her image, Elle goes where no Delta Nu sorority girl has gone before: Harvard Law School! Along the way, our heroine proves that being yourself and going after what you want never goes out of style.
