Katrina’s Comments
“Touchstone audiences will remember our production of Janet’s play Emphysema: A Love Story, which imagines the real life meetings of British theatre critic Kenneth Tynan and aging silent film star Louise Brooks. Influence has been a great opportunity to continue the collaboration with Janet and to bring her witty, imaginative theatrical vision into a premiere production for Touchstone.”

In a room in the British Museum in 1817 the unknown medical student John Keats wants to abandon his medicine to become a poet. Unbeknownst to him Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and protector of Athens, has arrived in the city of fog to reclaim The Elgin Marbles and seek revenge for the desecration of the Parthenon. With art, artefact and immortality all at stake, an epic and at times hilarious battle unfolds, which will determine the fate of Keats and influence the future forever.
