Adaptation by Michael Scholar, Jr.
Based on the book by Michael Turner, film by Bruce McDonald & screenplay by Noel S. Baker
Original Music by Joe Keithley, Lyrics by Michael Turner

Meet Joe Dick, the fast talking, hard rocking, gutter punk idealist who had his moment of glory fronting the legendary but now defunct Vancouver band Hard Core Logo. Living somewhere between East Hastings and a dream, Joe decides it’s time to drag the band back together for one last, ill-fated tour. Michael Scholar, Jr., the force behind The Black Rider, adapts this cult classic into a punk-ass piece of music theatre, featuring original music by D.O.A.’s Joe “Shithead” Keithley. Warning: Foul Language and Spitting.

Hear a CBC Radio Interview with the Cast

"Drop whatever you're doing right now and get tickets to see Hard Core Logo: LIVE. The live version is funny, and loud (Good God, why doesn't more theatre require me to wear earplugs?!), and above all else, incredibly entertaining. The cast is so strong, right across the board, that it's impossible to single out any one person - though it's worth noting the insane guitar skillz of Telly James, in the role of Billy Tallent. In short, Hard Core Logo: Live is like a really fun, less depressing version of the film, and will likely please you whether you've ever seen the original or not."

As Artistic Producer of November Theatre, Michael Scholar Jr.’s long-running production of The Black Rider either won or was nominated for Best Production in four cities across Canada. His extensive credits as an actor include Tideline, Life After God, and Little Mercy’s First Murder for Touchstone. Joe “Shithead” Keithley is best known as leader of Canada’s most influential punk band D.O.A. and as the Canadian godfather of punk. He has influenced everyone from Green Day and Sonic Youth to The Offspring and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and recently authored his first book, I Shithead, a life in punk.
