Dark Night Podcast

Beginning in January 2012 Touchstone Theatre will be presenting Dark Night a new podcast about live arts in Vancouver, released on Mondays and that can be downloaded and listened to at your leisure. Historically, plays don’t run on Monday nights, leaving the theatre "dark" – thus the theatre lingo "dark night" – lending us a perfect name and day for presenting a show made for both people who love the arts and people who create it. The show will cover the live arts news of the day, as well as background on important productions and live and pre-recorded promotional bits. Podcasting is quickly becoming one of the most exciting and accessible content delivery methods in the world, and it’s a perfect place for Vancouver artists to discus and share their work with the world. Initially the show will be audio only, but our aim is to move to a live video version in the near future.

Hosted by Dark Night originator Joel Grinke, the show will also feature high school students from Touchstone's goPLAY Theatre Club who will offer us their spin on the shows they have seen. A welcome addition to Vancouver's Arts media landscape, Dark Night is a whole new take on our thriving local scene.  Expect fascinating interviews, smart analysis, fun trivia and new voices.
